EC man killed in hit and run crash near Kirkwood

Kirkwood police have opened a culpable homicide docket following a hit and run accident on the R-336 on Friday night.

Police spokesperson, warrant officer Gerda Swart, says a passing motorist alerted police to the body of a 42-year-old man lying in the road.

She says he has suffered multiple head injuries.

Swart has appealed to the driver of the vehicle concerned to contact the police.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.
