A 24-year-old man from a small village at Mqanduli in the Eastern Cape has died after being beaten to death in a suspected mob justice attack.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Zamukulungisa Jozana, says the community appear to have linked the deceased and another man to various house robberies in the area.Jozana says the two men were tied up and beaten with a sjambok on Monday night
No arrests have yet been made and police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder.Meanwhile, Mqanduli police have opened an inquest docket after a 60-year-old woman burnt to death in a shack on Sunday.Lieutenant Colonel Jozana says the woman's body was found by her nephew.
