A 40 year old Eastern Cape man has been arrested for allegedly raping his 12 year old relative in Centane.
Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha says it is alleged that the victim was sent by her mother to a local shop on Sunday afternoon.
He says she met with the suspect, who requested her to accompany him to a certain homestead in the village.
Manatha says he then dragged the child to an open field, where he allegedly raped her.
The suspect is due to appear before in Court on Tuesday.
