Alleged hijackers arrested in Uitenhage

Uitenhage police have arrested two suspects who attempted to hijack a vehicle in Kwanobuhle.

Spokesperson, Warrant Officer Gerda Swart says the incident happened on Sunday night, when the complainant pointed the police in the direction of the fleeing suspects. 

She says police members gave chase and apprehended two suspects, aged 32 and 56.

Swart says police also confiscated an unlicensed 9mm firearm and ammunition.  

Both will appear in the Kwanobuhle Magistrates' Court soon.
