A 30-year-old Eastern Cape man has been arrested for the alleged rape of a three-year-old child.
Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, says the suspect was arrested on Thursday morning in a village near Kei Bridge close to Butterworth.
He says the child's grandmother found the child shivering and crying on Wednesday night after coming from the man's hut.
Manatha says the man fled after the woman questioned him about the child.
He will appear in court on Monday on a charge of rape.
