EC man arrested for allegedly killing family members he accused of witchcraft

A 42-year-old suspect will appear in the Ngcobo Magistrate's court Thursday for the murder of two women, aged 78 and 59.

Provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Sibongile Soci says the two woman were attacked and murdered at Sundwana Locality, Ngcobo, near Mthatha on the 2nd of July.

It is alleged that the suspect was involved in a motor vehicle accident on his way home. He then accused the two family members of practising witchcraft and bewitching him.

He stabbed the mother and walked to the aunt's homestead where he also attacked and murdered her before fleeing the scene.

Colonel Soci says eager to ensure that the killer of Nowezile Mbulali and Noluthando Sondlo is brought to justice, detectives worked around the clock on the case and arrested a 42-year-old suspect last night in Cala near Queenstown.
