The Eastern Cape Liquor Board says it will be cracking down on the sale of alcohol to school children after a group of East London learners were seen boozing it up on video.
Spokesperson, Mgwebi Msiya, says the learners, from Wongalethu High School in Mdantsane, were caught by members of the School Safety Forum at the Highway Shopping Centre.
He says the board will investigate this unfortunate incident as a matter of urgency to establish exactly how the learners accessed liquor in full school uniform.
Msiya adds drastic action will be taken to curb the sale of alcohol to school children.
He says the liquor board will meet this week, together with members of the Forum and SAPS and visit the school as part of the investigation.
