Police in Kariega are hunting the gunmen who shot and killed a Nelson Mandela Bay councillor and his Secretary on Monday.
Provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana, said the shooting occurred in Kwanobuhle at around midday.
The ANC confirmed that the victim was Councillor, Andile Andries, while the other deceased was Lubabalo Keso.
Kinana said the 45-year-old Councillor was coming out of his house with his 41-year-old secretary when shots were fired at them from a minibus which then sped off after the incident.
He said the number of suspects remains unknown and the circumstances surrounding the double shooting are still under investigation.
SAPS Kwanobuhle Detectives are investigating the double murder.
The murder of the councillor comes some months after another ANC councillor, Zwelandile Booi, in Kwazakhele.
