The Hawks in the Eastern Cape have appealed to members of the public who have invested in a pyramid scheme known as Feel Good Holdings to open cases with the King Williams Town police.
The appeal comes as the man arrested in connection with the alleged scam continues his bid for bail in court on Friday.
Hawks Eastern Cape spokesperson, Captain Anelisa Feni, said that the suspect identified himself as Lucky Mudau and was arrested on 14 May by members of the Serious Commercial Crime Investigation Unit of the Hawks.
She said it is alleged that he was operating the business in King Williams Town where he was arrested.
"Approximately 30 people joined the pyramid scheme. Participants invested amounts ranging from R200 to R10 000 in exchange for 100% profit," Feni said.
She said their investigations also revealed that "the real Lucky Mudau resides in Limpopo and that the accused's true identity has not yet been established."
Feni said it is further alleged that the suspect operated the same pyramid scheme in Limpopo last year before fleeing the province amid an investigation into his alleged criminal activities.
