Sheshegu serial rapist Mayizole Dingiso was sentenced to an effective 20 years behind bars in the Bhisho High Court on Thursday.
The 35-year-old Dingiso, from Lower Sheshegu in Alice was earlier found guilty and positively linked through DNA to two rape charges and other crimes including housebreaking with intent to rape.
His crime spree began in 2014 and included the rape of a 57-year-old woman and a 72-year-old woman.
Both women were in court on Thursday, supported by close friends and relatives to hear sentence handed down.
Judge Belinda Hartley said Dingiso meticulously planned these attacks after identifying elderly and vulnerable victims and needed to be removed from society for a very long time.
The eldest survivor said she was very delighted with the sentence. She said they did not even know the culprit but was satisfied with the outcome.
