President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to announce a cabinet reshuffle at three o'clock on Thursday afternoon.
This follows the death of environmental affairs minister Edna Molewa - and the resignation of Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba.
Gigaba resigned last week after Ramaphosa reportedly ordered him to, following a finding against him by public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane.
He resigned as a Cabinet minister on November 13 amid a series of reputational knocks to his public image, ranging from a leaked sex tape to being found to have breached the executive ethics code by lying under oath.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency, the Media will not be allowed to ask questions after the announcement as it is "ceremonial in nature".
