Aberdeen police have opened an inquest docket after a farmworker died of injuries sustained when he was struck by lighting.
Captain Bradley Rawlinson says the deceased and fellow workers were repairing fencing on a farm in the Aberdeen district around 5.30 pm on Tuesday when he was struck by lighting.
Emergency Services were summoned and declared the farmworker dead on the scene.
Captain Rawlinson says the name of the deceased will only be released once all his next of kin have been informed.
