Eastern Cape Education Department Communications and Customer Care Director, Loyiso Pulumani, has died.
Education MEC, Fundile Gade, said he had learned with sadness of his passing on Sunday.
In a brief statement, MEC Gade said Pulumani died at midday after a short illness which led to him being admitted to the St Dominics Hospital on Saturday.
MEC Gade sends his heartfelt condolences to his family.
He said details about funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.
