Eastern Cape police are investigating two cases of reckless and negligent driving after the driver of a Mercedes Benz allegedly caused two accidents on the N-2 between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson, Captain John Fobian, says the Mercedes driver is in a serious condition in hospital in Grahamstown after hitting another car and rolling his vehicle on the N2 about 20 kilometres outside the city late on Tuesday afternoon.
Its alleged that the man had earlier hit another vehicle at Nanaga, causing it to overturn and injuring a mother and her child.
Fobian says once the investigation is complete, the case dockets will be presented to the prosecuting authority for a decision.
He's also called on other motorists who may have witnessed these incidents to provide statements to the Grahamstown police.
