This week's Department of Water and Sanitation's Dam Levels Report indicate that the Eastern Cape water levels dropped again exacerbating the incidents of drought in the Province due to lack of rain.
The report indicates that a combined average of water levels for the Eastern Cape Province is 52, 4% this week, which is a slight decline compared to last week.
In Nelson Mandela Bay drought is still visible and its dams are under tremendous stress.
Dams servicing the Amathole District Municipality are also hit hard by the drought.
A Spokesperson for the Department of Water and Sanitation Sputnik Ratau says most towns in the Amathole municipality are experiencing water shortages.
Ratau urged all communities to use water sparingly at all times.
