EC councillor's home torched

Eastern Cape police are investigating a case of arson after a councillor’s home was set alight.

Police spokesperson, Captain Khaya Tonjeni, said the incident was reported early on Friday morning to Mbizana police.

He said the local government councillor lived in Msizazwe Locality in Mbizana.

No one has been arrested but Tonjeni said police are following up all leads.

There were no reports of any injuries and the motive for the arson attack is, as yet, unknown.
