Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, said he was arrested by members of a multi-disciplinary team on Sunday during which several cell phones were also seized.

“During the search of a Mercedes mini bus, police K9 ‘Coda’ reacted to a package which contained drugs. Further investigation led the team to search a prison cell where more drugs, dagga, cocaine and tik , six cell phones, and three cell phone chargers were seized,” she said.
Janse Van Rensburg said the total amount of drugs confiscated in the sting operation amounted to 400 mandrax tablets, two rolls of dagga, 14 packets of cocaine, 34 packets of tik and cash.
“The suspect was arrested on a charge of dealing in drugs and will appear at the St Albans Magistrate Court on Tuesday,” she said.
