Eastern Cape police say Operation Paseka is in full swing as the Easter weekend approaches.
Provincial police spokesperson, captain Ernest Sigobe, says "Operation Paseka" is aimed at ensuring that all people in the Eastern Cape are and feel safe during the Easter holidays.
He says the operation will focus on police priority crime areas throughout the province.
Provincial Commissioner, Liuetenant-General Celiwe Binta has assures all Eastern Cape residents and visitors that police members will be deployed in all priority areas to ensure their safety.
"We will be out in full force and we will not tolerate any form of criminality", she said. "All our support systems are in place and we are ready to respond to any form of eventuality", she added.
