Police in the Eastern Cape arrested 65 motorists this past weekend for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Several roadblocks were conducted in both the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro and the Buffalo City Metro.
In BCM a total of 54 motorists were arrested for drunk driving.
20 in Mdantsane
6 in Beacon Bay
4 in the East London CBD
24 in King Williams Town
In the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro, a roadblock was held in conjunction with Kwazakhele SAPS on the R75 which lead to the arrest of 11 motorists who were allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
Officials also arrested a taxi driver who crammed 40 passengers into his 16 seater.
He is expected to appear in court on Monday.
