A 47-year-old man from Pacaltsdorp, who allegedly killed his wife on Saturday, is expected to appear in the George Magistrates court on Monday.
Police Spokesperson Captain Malcolm Poiie says the suspect and his 43-year-old wife were sitting in their yard on Saturday evening when an argument between them broke out.
He says according to witnesses the suspect took a cement lintel and hit his wife over the head.
According to paramedics, she died instantly.
Pojie says the husband was arrested later and detained at the local police station.
He will be charged with murder.
An autopsy will still be performed on the deceased to determine the exact cause of death.
