Eastern Cape police have launched a manhunt for ten men who shot and killed a policeman during a robbery at a supermarket chain store in Mount Fletcher.
Provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Marinda Mills, says he was 38-year-old Constable Martin Dlamini.
He was fatally wounded when police came under fire from ten gunmen who robbed a Boxer Supermarket Store of an undisclosed amount of cash on Thursday.
His colleague, Constable Katiso Nakin, was wounded in the leg and is in a stable condition in hospital.
Mills says the robbers fled in three vehicles, one of which was hijacked as they made their escape.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have information on the robbery to come forward.
