Eastern Cape woman jailed for abandoning her baby

An Eastern Cape woman has been jailed for three years for abandoning her six month old baby under a bridge last year.

Twenty-eight-year-old Babalwa Ntsito was sentenced in the Zwelitsha magistrate's court on Wednesday.

She was arrested for abandoning her baby girl under a bridge in Quzini Location outside King Williams Town last July.

The child is now in the custody of the Department of Social Development.
