Eastern Cape Premier Noxolo Kiviet has delivered her end of year message in which she has wished the residents of the province a happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Looking back on 2011 - Kiviet said the Eastern Cape government had concluded a number of strategic agreements that are set to create over 160-thousand job opportunities to make a dent on the province's 28% unemployment rate.
These include the Umzimvubu Water Catchment Project, the expansion of the Coega container port and construction of major roads such as the N2 Wild Coast Toll Road and the R72.
Kiviet said her government would be hosting a major job summit in Februay 2012 - where its job strategy is expected to be endorsed by private sector and labour.
