The Eastern Cape government has rejected a call by the ANC Youth League in the province for premier Noxolo Kiviet to step down.
The Youth League made the call at a media conference on Tuesday, claiming that the premier is doing nothing for the province.
But, the premier's office rejected the youth league's call as unwarranted and baseless.
In a brief statement, the premier's office said the matter will be dealt with by the ANC whose prorogative it is to deploy or redeploy its members to public offices.
