Police in Centane in the Eastern Cape are investigating a case of murder after a man was gunned down at his home at Sisonke Township, police said on Thursday.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, it is alleged that the 25-year-old deceased was sleeping with his girlfriend on Tuesday at about 22:10 when somebody knocked at the kitchen door. The deceased woke up to open the door, leaving his girlfriend in the bed.
“The girlfriend heard some gun shots. She went to investigate and found the boyfriend already dead. He was shot on his upper body.”
Manatha added that the suspect was not seen by the girlfriend.
“Centane Police is appealing for community assistance in tracing the perpetrator/s. Anyone with information should please contact Centane Police on 047 498 1066. The deceased will be identified once all his family members are informed of his murder,” he said.
