Health Minister, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, says the Eastern Cape is the only province that will not be ready for the roll-out of National Health Insurance pilot projects by the April deadline.
Addressing a parliamentary committee on Friday, the Health Minister said consultations in the Eastern Cape have to start from scratch.
He said when he had arrived in the province for consultations with stakeholders they had not been briefed about the meeting.
The Health Minister assured parliament's appropriations committee that visible results will be seen at ten of the 11 NHI pilot sites by April.
Government has allocated over a billion rand to the pilot sites over the next few years.
