An Eastern Cape man who was abducted from his workshop in Butterworth on Thursday has been found alive.
Police Spokesperson Colonel Sibongile Soci says police found the 33-year-old man walking alone in a road in the Mtebele location in Ngqamakhwe on Saturday.
She says police found his vehicle abandoned nearby on Friday.
Colonel Soci says they have since taken a 30-year-old man from the location, in for questioning as police believe that he can assist them in the investigation.
She says, however, that this man has not yet been linked to the crime.
Police did not supply the media with the name of the victim, but he was identified on social media as Schalk van der Merwe.
On Thursday police issued an alert after van der Merwe was forced into his Audi A3 by several armed men.
Soci says his mother was present during the incident but was not harmed.
She says the investigation continues.
