The vehicle which belongs to an Eastern Cape businessman who was kidnapped in Butterworth on Thursday has been found.
Police Spokesperson Colonel Sibongile Soci says the Audi A3 was found abandoned in the Mtebele bushes in Ngqamakhwe on Friday.
She says there is still no information on the whereabouts of the victim.
The man, who was identified on social media as Schalk van der Merwe was allegedly approached by five gunmen at his workshop in the Industrial Area in Msombuvu where he was forced into the back of his car before the suspects drove off in his Audi.
Police have been working tirelessly to find van der Merwe who has now been missing for almost 48 hours.
Colonel Soci says no requests for a ransom was made.
Police have urged any person with information to come forward.
Soci says all information received will be treated with strict confidentiality.
