Eastern Cape Education MEC to announce the number of teaching posts for next year.

Eastern Cape Education MEC Mandla Makupula is expected to announce the number of teaching posts for 2015 on Tuesday.

And, the DA in the province has called on Makupula to consider the outcry from schools that more teachers are needed when he releases the teacher post provisioning for next year.

Dozens of schools in Port Elizabeth's Northern Areas and elsewhere have shut their doors in ongoing protests about teachers shortages.

DA MPL, Edmund van Vuuren, says he hopes MEC Makupula will be proactive in his pronouncements and ensure that there's a teacher for every classroom.
