Eastern Cape Education department ready for matric exams

Eastern Cape Education MEC, Mandla Makupula, says the province is ready for the 2013 matric exams, which kick off on Monday.
And, he says they're targetting a 70% pass rate.
Last year the province had a pass rate of 61.7 percent.
Makupula says 75 092 full time and 20 580 part time candidates have been registered for the Grade 12 National Senior Certificate examinations in the province.
He says the province is committed to releasing 100% of the results on the sixth of January next year as per the management plan.

"The MEC announced that he is confident and we are ready to deliver everything that has to do with the national examination. We had to work with e security cluster with the EDO's and stakeholders to ensure we meet the requirements to make sure the exams are credible" he said
