The Eastern Cape Economic Development MEC, Mcebisi Jonas, will deliver his 2012/2013 policy speech in the Bhisho legislature on Thursday.
The Department says it has been at the forefront in crafting and implementing responsive strategies to salvage the provincial economy which was severely affected by the economic crisis.
It says climate change, poverty and employment still remain the key challenges that need intervention.
Meanwhile, Education MEC, Mandla Makupula, will also table his plans to rescue his embattled department, which is under national government supervision.
Other departments that will table their policy statements include Roads and Public Works, Local Government and Traditional Affairs and Agriculture and Rural Development.
