The ANC in the Eastern Cape says it will hold its provincial nominations conference at the end of the month.
This is in preparation for the party's all-important elective conference in Mangaung in December.
In a statement on Tuesday, the party's provincial executive committee said more than 83% of the branch general meetings had been completed.
The ANC in the Eastern Cape said it remains determined to take its full complement of 676 delegates to Mangaung.
ANC provincial secretary, Lubabalo Mabuyane, was frank about the difficulties being experienced at some branches.
"We might not get the 100% but at least we should not be left on 95%, because there are definitely areas where it is difficult if you talk about Chris Hani there are two branches which have fundamental problems where they are unable to even meet, because of a lot of irregularities in the membership and how it was managed during the audit" Mabuyane said.
