A visitor from India has sustained serious injuries after falling out of a charter boat at the Knysna Heads.
The National Sea Rescue Institue says the incident happened on Tuesday morning.
NSRI spokesperson, Craig Lambinon, says the yacht, Head Explorer, came to the assistance of the crew of the charter boat.
The 52-year-old woman was lifted on to what is known as the super scoop on the yacht and taken to shore.
She fractured her right arm in three places and had to undergo surgery.
Lambinon says the SA Maritime Safety Authority served an immediate prohibition notice on the charter boat Moonraker pending an investigation.
