A 45-year old woman made her first appearance in the East London magistrate’s court on Thursday on charges of fraud and theft involving R3.7 million.
Fiona Marcella Bosch was arrested at the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) East London offices on Thursday morning after she handed herself in.
Hawks spokesperson, Lieutenant Anelisa Feni, said in a statement that Bosch was accused of defrauding a company in East London which manufactured car parts and accessories.
Feni said that Bosch allegedly manipulated the company’s electronic system and committed the crimes between January 2010 and October 2015 while she was employed as a finance controller.
Bosch was subsequently released on bail of R10,000.
The case was postponed until June 2.
