East London woman arrested for concealment of birth

Eastern Cape police have confirmed the arrest of a 20-year-old woman on a charge of concealment of birth.

Spokesperson, W/O Majola Nkohli says the arrest follows after the body of a newborn baby was found in a dustbin in one of the student residences in East London on Thursday.

He says the circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown and form part of the investigation.

Nkohli says the woman is due to appear in court soon.
