A 27-year old East London taxi driver has appeared in court after he was arrested for overloading his vehicle with learners from Hudson Park High School.
Police Captain Stephen Marais says Masixole Mameza was arrested on Thursday on a charge of overloading.
Marais says he was granted bail of R300 at a nearby police station
Provincial Traffic spokesperson, Tsepo Machaya, says the driver was arrested by provincial traffic officers on the N2 near Beacon Bay.
He says the taxi was overloaded by 10 learners between the age of 16 and 18.
