East London school guard shot and wounded

East London police have arrested a suspect after a security guard was shot and wounded at John Bisseker High School in Parkside.

Police spokesperson, lieutenant-colonel Mtati Tana, says the suspect and three other men opened fire on the guard at around 9 o'clock Monday night.

He says the 58-year-old guard is recovering in the city's Frere Hospital.

The motive for the shooting is not known.
