Eastern Cape police are appealing for public assistance in solving the mysterious murder of an East London woman who was killed after a night out with an unknown man, who had displayed an interest in her, last year.
Police spokesperson, Captain Khaya Tonjeni said the body of the 48-year-old victim was found with serious head injuries and covered in a brown towel at North End in July 2019.
It is alleged that the deceased had gone out to Natalie's Tavern to enjoy herself with a female friend, where she started mingling with the unknown man who showed a romantic interest in her.
Her friend later left them at the tavern together.
Captain Tonjeni said the victim was last seen with this man before being discovered the following day.
He added that all leads and evidence which had been followed since 2019 in an attempt to solve this case have reached a dead end.
Police are urging anyone who can identify him from the picture or can help trace his location to come forward as he is believed to be the key and a critical link that can help to solve this crime.
