Police in East London have re-arrested one of two men who escaped from the Mdantsane Magistrate’s Court.
Police said that 30-year-old, Thabani Mkhokeli, was recaptured in Duncan Village over the weekend while his co-accused, Lulekani Somtsora, is still at large.
The two escaped from the Mdantsane Magistrate’s Court cells last week.
A police spokesperson said that Mkhokeli will now face additional charge of escaping lawful police when he appears in court again this week.
The search Somtsora is continuing.
“Police are urging anyone with information not to try and arrest him because he is dangerous, rather to contact the nearest police station, Crime Stop on 08600 10111,” a police statement said.
