An East London businessman, accused of defrauding a local company of around tens of millions of Rand over a period of six years, is due to appear in court again on Tuesday.
According to earlier reports, Henry Schreuder, is accused of defrauding the company Floorworx Africa of R70-million.
It is alleged that Schreuder worked for Floorworx for 20 years as a financial director. He allegedly deposited the money to cover payments to bogus suppliers of Floorworx Africa. The are records of him spending R140 000 at a local casino between August and September 2012.
His wife is said to be an employee of the National Intelligence Agency and his son owns a local upmarket restaurant. Floorworx Africa asked the Court to freeze all his accounts.
