East London police are searching for three suspects who robbed a Woolworths store in Hemingways Mall of an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said the incident happened at around 06:30 on Sunday morning.
She said a staff member was approached by a suspect who entered through the staff entrance, and showed him a firearm.
Two more suspects entered and took the staff members upstairs to find the manager who had the keys to the safe.
Naidu said they ordered the manager to open the safe and hand over the money.
She said they took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled in a white Suzuki Swift, which had no number plates.
A case of business robbery was opened and the investigation continues.
