Gqeberha police have arrested two suspects minutes after they allegedly hijacked an e-hailing driver in Commercial Road in Sidwell.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the 23-year-old complainant picked up two men late on Sunday afternoon and took them to a nearby centre to draw cash.

She said afterwards the men drew a firearm and ordered the driver out of his vehicle at Truckers Inn in Motherwell without his phone and wallet.

Naidu says police followed the vehicle's tracking device after it was activated and the suspects were arrested in Algoa Park following a chase by Kwazakhele police.

The pair, aged 18 and 20 are due to appear in court soon.
