A 44-year-old father was arrested on Wednesday after he allegedly killed his four children by hanging them.
The bodies of 4-year old Kuhlekonke Mpungose, 6-year-old Khwezi and 10-year-old Sphesihle were found in their home on Tuesday afternoon by their distraught mother and the police.
A fourth child, 16-year-old Ayakha Jiyane, who was the suspect's stepdaughter, was found in a bush in New Germany hanging from a tree.
It is understood that the suspect and his wife were embroiled in a divorce battle.
The mother became suspicious when the school told her that her husband had picked the kids up from school. The woman immediately contacted police who accompanied her to her home in Wyebank.
