Duncan Village fire claims one life

The Buffalo City Metro says at least one person was killed and another was injured in a devastating fire in Duncan Village on Saturday morning.

It says the fire brigade was called to Area 7 where about 30 shacks were on fire.

Nearly 80 people have been left homeless.

The Metro's Disaster Management has activated the Human Settlements Department to assist the affected families.

The victims have been issued with 58 relief packs which included blankets and food.
