Two people have been arrested for being in possession of Mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R84 000.
Police spokesperson, Captain Ursula Roelofse, says a 33-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were arrested in a joint police operation in Eureka Township in Burgersdorp on Tuesday morning.
She says police and members of the Aliwal North K-9 unit were acting on a tip-off when they raided a house just after 7 am
Roelofse said police management thanked the local community for their assistance in the fight against crime and that the suspects will be appearing in court soon.
