Drowning victim still a "John Doe" after a year


 One year ago, on 21 January 2013, the body of a drowning victim was found on the banks of the Swartkops River at Redhouse, Port Elizabeth. The victim could only be identified as being a male person. Age and identity unknown.

This victim was still dressed in a pair of brown khaki "Bermuda" shorts, and a navy blue striped T-shirt. He was 1.66m tall and weight 51kg.

Since then, nobody has come forward to claim the body and the victim has not been identified.

The South African Police Service is appealing to anybody with further information to this incident or who can identify this victim or the possible next of kin, to please make contact with the Investigating Officers at Swartkops Detectives at 041 4088307.
