A 32-year-old man is expected to appear in the George Magistrates Court on Monday after police pulled over his bakkie and found mandrax hidden inside.
The Hawks in George together with the K9 unit received information about a bakkie loaded with drugs travelling from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town on Thursday.
The vehicle matching the description was intercepted near Victoria Heights in George.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies says they searched the vehicle and found mandrax tablets worth R140 000 hidden in a compartment behind the seats.
The man was detained and will be charged with dealing in drugs.
