A 39-year-old man was killed after he was hit by a truck on the N2 freeway near Colchester.
A spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the accident happened in the early hours of Tuesday at about 1.30 am.
She says a Ford bakkie with six occupants was stationary on the yellow line near Cerebos, Coega in the direction of Gqeberha.
The truck was also travelling towards the city and bumped the bakkie on the side causing the truck to overturn.
Janse van Rensburg says the victim, who was the driver of the bakkie, was standing next to his car when he was hit by the truck.
She says he died on the scene.
His passengers and the truck driver sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital.
A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
The name of the deceased is not yet known.
