Uitenhage police are urgently trying to trace the driver of a small blue Sedan following an accident this weekend in which a 38-year-old man was killed.
Police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart, says the incident happened on Sunday when three men were pushing a car which had broken down.
She says the Sedan allegedly drove into the back of the stricken Opel Monza vehicle, fatally injuring Maxwell Peyi.
The accident happened on old Cape Road just before Kuilsrivier.
The driver of the second car got out and said he was going to get a cell phone, but then sped off and did not return to the accident scene.
Swart says police are urging the driver or anyone who may know his whereabouts to contact Uitenhage police as soon as possible.
