Police in Kirkwood are investigating a case of culpable homicide following an accident where a person burnt to death.
Spokesperson Sergeant Majola Nkohli says it is alleged that a white truck was travelling on the R336 towards Kirkwood when it collided with an oncoming Nissan Micra just after 6.30 am on Thursday.
He says the vehicle caught fire on impact, trapping the driver who burnt to death.
Sergeant Nkohli says the name of the victim is unknown at this stage as a process is underway to identify the deceased.
